About

I think it is time for me to participate in the OSI to ensure that the goals and objectives of the organization is steered for maximum benefit of OSI members as well as the global open source community.

I would want to steward OSI in areas of community engagement, finance, and general collaboration with organizations in the general area of technology policy and governance around the world.

What areas of the Board’s work do you see yourself contributing towards?

I see my contributions into any or all of the following:
a) Audit Committee
b) Elections Committee

At the general level, being an advocate and representative of OSI in the APAC region.

What goals do you hope to achieve for OSI and the world of open source by serving on the Board of Directors?

a) We have big challenges in open source and how AI plays into it. The OSAID v 1 was released last year and it would need to be updated to include ways in which we can get training data be starting point of what it means for something to be on an open source license. I would like to lead on that discussion and eventual release of an updated OSAID definition.

b) Become the voice of authority on all thing open source around the world. There still are large groups in major nations that have no understanding of what it means for something to be considered open source. Education is critical.
