What areas of the Board’s work do you see yourself contributing towards?
As someone who works day in and day out on open source diligence, I feel that knowledge is a key component of compliance.
I feel where I would best contribute to the Board’s work is my perspective and experience related to many years of diligence challenges, successes, best practices I’ve seen and used, and to help identify and drive education opportunities and partnering so that those who are “in the weeds” can be more educated on open source compliance and the importance of the open source ecosystem generally.
What goals do you hope to achieve for OSI and the world of open source by serving on the Board of Directors?
Having been part of the diverse team who helped the OSI review models and develop the Open Source AI Definition 1.0, I’d like to continue this important work as it evolves. I’d also like to help ensure that the OSI is the looked-to organization for what Open Source AI means and that the Open Source AI definition is *the* standard worldwide so that when we all see and hear “open source AI” everyone knows what that means. Additionally, I want to continue to promote and underscore the importance of open source generally.
